My Shadow Man was just what his name implies,he was my Shadow. I got Shadow when he was 5 months old and the next to the last out of a litter of 7,his mom was a silver minature poodle and dad a white minature, and Shadow was what they call a blue, but it looked dark grey to me with some white hairs mixed in. He was healthy until he was about 4 years old then one day I had let him and the other dogs out to play in the yard and when he came in I noticed that his left eye was all cloudy and so I rushed him into our Vets at that moment. I ended up taking him to Cincinnati Ohio to a dog eye specialist and that Vet treated his eye with drops but in about 2 weeks the decision was made to remove the eye,it was so painful for him even with the meds 3 times a day and he had no vision in that eye so we had it removed and he did just fine for about a year, then he started getting sick on a Friday and I took him to the Vet and our Vet gave him so meds and we took him home and then come Monday morning he was worse so back to the Vets and it was discovered that he was Diabetic and in a Diabetic coma by that afternoon. My wonderful Vet explained to me what I would have to put him thru to try and manage his diabetes and I knew it would not be a quality of life for him so I made the decision to let him go over the Rainbow Bridge,to be with some of my other animals that I have had the pleasure and honor to live with me and share my life. Shadow was one SPECIAL BOY!!!!!!!!!!! That was 6 years ago and it still makes me cry to think about him today and I still miss him even with all the others that are letting us share their lives at this time. The picture I have attached shows Shadow Man and Monty Boy,Monty was just about a year old when Shadow died and he had a hard time for several months after Shadow was gone. Shadow and Monty played ball all the time, but after Shadow was gone Monty has never played with or even picked up a ball.
