For The Love Of Pets

I have a spayed female APBT who loves every person and dog she meets, that is until I brought home a buddy for her. In an hours time she attacked him too many times to count. Even when he layed down and submitted, she kept at him. I have since enrolled her in training boot camp at sit means sit dog traing. I work at least 10 hrs a day, and even though she gets lots of attention b4 and after work I hate to leave her alone. She is great with dogs if they arnt on her turf, but the trainer assures me that she will be much better when she gets home. I am still in a delimah of what to do, any opnion would be helpful, thanks

We adopted him from the shelter and we ultimatly had to take him back ( he was adopted by another family ) my girl was hurting him, she put a toth in his muzzle and when he was down submitting she put a tooth mark on his neck. I was hoping when she got done with training she would be better,he trainer says she loves other dogs, she is just home possessive. I just wonder if it is healthy for her to be the only dog.

How long have you had the new dog? Were they introduced slowly to one another? A certain amount of aggression towards the new dog is normal, as your PB needs to establish her rank as Alpha in the home. Nipping at the new dog, and things of that sort is part if the process, but if she is attacking to a point she could injure him, that's another thing. You are doing the right thing by getting her into training. In the mean time, I would definitely keep them separated when you are not there to intervene.

Keep us posted on how it goes.
